Spicy Hot Steak Stir-Fry

This Spicy Steak Stir-fry is a really nice dish and it isn’t expensive either. You can cook this wickedly tasty dish in about an hour. This is a meal that we regularly have each week and is one of favourites. It’ll probably be one of yours too!

Spicy Steak Stir-fry

Ingredients:

2 Hot red chillies (de-seeded) chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
1 red, green and yellow pepper, de-seeded and sliced
2 sticks of celery (thinly sliced)
1lb/450 steak (cut into strips)
6 spring onions (diagonally cut)
2-3 tbsp sesame oil

The Marinade:

1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
5 tbsp sherry (optional)
5 tbsp dark soy sauce
1in/2.5cm ginger, peeled and finely chopped
2-3 tbsp lime or lemon juice
½ tsp ground freshly black pepper

Method:

Mix all the ingredients for the marinade and the beef in a bowl and stir well and
cover. Leave in fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

After 30mins to 1 hour, remove the beef strips from marinade and set remainder of
marinade aside. Now heat up olive oil in wok or pan, then stir-fry beef for 4-5
minutes, then remove and put aside.

Now add onions, peppers, chillies and celery to wok and stir-fry for 5 minutes.

Add beef and marinade to the wok and mix together. Bring to the boil and pour in the
sesame oil and mix for 1-2 minutes and serve.
